Program Overview

CamLoc's senior mathematics courses support students studying Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 1 and Mathematics Extension 2. Lessons are aligned with the current NSW syllabus and are taught ahead of school, giving students more time to develop conceptual understanding, practise exam-style questions and refine problem-solving technique.

2026 Senior Pathway

Years 11-12 Mathematics Scope

The 2026 senior pathway develops conceptual depth before examination technique. Year 11 content is sequenced across Mathematics Advanced and Extension 1; Year 12 support follows each student's enrolled HSC course and school assessment calendar.

Year 11 Mathematics Advanced

A connected sequence built around functions, trigonometry, introductory calculus, exponential and logarithmic relationships, probability and data.

Functions

Domain and range, notation, graphical interpretation and transformations.

Trigonometric Functions

Measures of angles, exact values, graphs, identities and equations.

Calculus

Differentiation, gradient as a rate of change, derivative rules and introductory applications.

Exponential and Logarithmic Functions

Laws, equations, graphs, inverse relationships and modelling.

Statistical Analysis

Probability, data representation, measures of centre and spread, and evidence-based conclusions.

Year 11 Mathematics Extension 1

A more demanding pathway connecting advanced functions and trigonometry with polynomials, combinatorics and the binomial theorem.

Further Work with Functions

Advanced notation, transformations, equations, modelling and graphical connections.

Polynomials

Operations, roots, factors, remainder and factor theorems, equations and graphs.

Further Trigonometry

Advanced angle relationships, identities, equations and multi-step reasoning.

Permutations and Combinations

Counting principles, arrangements, selections, restrictions and applications.

The Binomial Theorem

Expansions, coefficients, general terms and algebraic or combinatorial applications.

HSC Year

Year 12 HSC Mathematics Support

Year 12 teaching is aligned with the student's Mathematics Advanced, Extension 1 or Extension 2 course and adjusted to school assessment timing.
